If Osama bin Laden is being “honored” or portrayed sympathetically by a religious leader, then the real question is not whether the headline is shockingi t is what happened to moral consistency?
You cannot spend decades lecturing the Muslim world about terrorism, extremism and civilized values, and then suddenly blur the moral line when the same history is being repackaged through your own ideological or political lens.
From Pakistan, we have seen the consequences of terrorism far beyond newspaper headlines. Ordinary people paid the price in blood, fear, funerals and broken families.
So spare us the selective morality.
If terrorism is wrong, it is wrong regardless of who commits it, who explains it, who romanticizes it, or which religious institution gives it a respectable vocabulary.
