That history seems very familiar to me. I visited two monasteries along the Danube; beautiful and serene places. We learned monasteries were built about 50 miles apart giving shelter to those who travelled.
So it was confusing to me when just last week I read all of western civilization was stolen from Africans & Muslims who were also the first to live in Scandinavia. :-/
I thought I would share a prophetic quote with you from John S. Stokes in 1952 in an article titled ‘Flowers of Our Lady.’
“While it is always a possibility that modern society may suffer so complete a collapse that monastic organization will once again be called to carry on the light of religion and culture to a new dawning, it is to be hoped that a restoration of social order to true principles can be made short of such a violent upheaval.”
This was so powerful for me, that I use his verbiage in my tagline in one of my logos for my business.
It’s so true “Those buildings are the bridge between the ancient world and ours”… even if they have become tourist spots if you can listen and sense the history… God will speak to you right where you are
